We do hope you are all surviving the second national lockdown, and are not finding it too difficult this time around.  We do understand that for some of our patients times are tough at the moment, especially as we are coming into the winter months. 

With this in mind the Treetops team have decided to send out a mini catch up to let you all know that we are still open, and also for you to remember that if you are struggling to get outside or need any help then we are always here for you, just  call us and we will do everything we can to help.

Following our Government’s announcement of a second lockdown as of Thursday 5 November, we wanted to immediately reassure all our patients that TREETOPS will remain open.

We have been informed that the essential services we provide for our patients; from examinations, hygiene visits through to implants and orthodontics will not be affected.  Preventive care and treatment is paramount to patient’s health and wellbeing and as healthcare professionals each and every one of the Treetops team are committed to providing safe and outstanding care for you all.

It is imperative that we reassure all of you that we have enthusiastically and with rigour implemented and adhere to, all the necessary COVID 19 safety measures, ensuring the safety of our team and of our patients.  Our GOOGLE reviews are an amazing advocate of how these safety procedures have installed and increased confidence prior, during and following visits to Treetops through the COVID pandemic.

KEY SAFETY MEASURES
-We medically risk assess all patients prior to attendance
·We wear all appropriate PPE to safeguard you and ourselves
·We COVID risk assess all patients prior to being invited into the premises on the day of their appointment
·We insist all of our patients wear their facemasks
· We disinfect, we sterilise and we provide a safe environment to continue to deliver outstanding dental care.

What did you want to do when you were at school?
I have always wanted to work as a Nurse, I’ve always seen myself in this kind of environment, caring for others, then an opportunity came up from my careers day at school and I put myself forward for an dental nurse apprenticeship with Treetops, I got it and I’ve been here ever since!
What made you want to become a dental nurse?
When I saw the opportunity to start an apprenticeship at Treetops, I looked back and realised that my own experience of having braces as a child was a really positive one, I was looked after and felt really cared for, I wanted to make others feel the same way I did. 
What did you do to become a dental nurse?
I attended college straight from school as well as an apprenticeship with Treetops
What is a typical day like?
Every day is different as the treatments are so varied, which is great because I’m still always learning or seeing something new,  but the caring environment and the lovely patients make it feel very homely.
What’s the best thing about your job?
The fact no two days are the same, and its nice to catch up with patients I haven’t seen for a while, plus the Treetops team are like a family to me, we are all very close. 
What is the most challenging thing about your job?
Sometimes being on my feet all day can be tiring but its worth i love what I do.
What advice do you have for people who want to do what you do?
Be prepared to work hard, study hard, be on your feet and be busy.

As you may be aware, November is Mouth cancer action month. 

This means November is the month to raise awareness of mouth cancer and its signs and symptoms, normally we would decorate the surgery and we would all wear blue lipstick to work, but due to COVID-19 we are unable to do that this year, so we have decided to  do `blue lip selfies`
