Dear Treetops Patients,We hope that 2022 has started well for everyone.  I can not believe we are in February already and how lovely is it to start to see the nights get lighter! We firstly wanted to thank everyone for their Christmas and New year wishes, it seems a long time ago now, yet we all had such a lovely break.

We have started 2022 with a real air of positivity around the Treetops corridors, even more than normal! We have just had our Personal Performance Reviews and I know lots of people can find this an uncomfortable experience yet not at Treetops!  We all give feedback on each other, we share the good, the bad and the ugly and hand on heart it has been such an inspiring process, the respect, gratitude, motivation and commitment that has been shared has been incredibly energising!  As any team, we are always ‘work in progress’ yet please be assured that our team is without doubt committed to developing themselves and your patient journey.

Furthermore, we hosted a clinical photography course in December for the Treetops team and this has added an extra spring in everyone’s step. Our Clinicians with the support of their proficient nurses produce some incredible dentistry, and they can now proudly share this through their before and after photographs. Look out in our newsletters and on our social media platforms where you will see the solutions that are possible these days through modern dentistry and the skill of the Treetops Clinicians – seeing is believing!

Last but not least, we continue to receive some amazing patient reviews via Google, Working Feedback and video testimonials.  We are most grateful to each and everyone of you for taking the time to share your experiences, they not only help potential patients yet the team themselves get such a buzz from them.

Wishing you a wonderful February and for those that like the love that surrounds February – Happy Valentines Day.

Louise

Congratulations to this months Denplan loyalty award winner!!!!

This months lucky winners were Mr and Mrs Ingleby who are now proud owners of a lovely wine selection.

Congratulations and remember you need to be in it to win it!

The above before and after photographs are examples of the amazing dental treatment carried out by Dr Amit Pankhania and his super efficient nurse Emma this month.

They show amalgam/silver/metal fillings which has then been removed and replaced by a composite (white) filling material leaving it looking like a natural tooth again!

Well done guys!

Recently Dr Bhamber and his fabulous nurse Kacey were presented with a patient that had taken a tumble and had unfortunately fractured her front tooth. Sadly the tooth was beyond repair and needed to be removed. Thinking on his feet as always Dr Bhamber decided that as our patient is too young to consider an implant or dentures, he made her a provisional Maryland bridge (with minimal tooth preparation).
What a fantastic result and as you can see by the after pictures it is not even noticeable! Our patient is back to smiling her winning smile like nothing ever happened.Well done Dr Bhamber and nurse Kacey!
Dr Abereoje talks “leaky fillings”

To tell the “tooth” not all fillings are created equal. Fillings can be made from different materials, including different types of metals, ceramics, and porcelains. Different materials will have different physical characteristics, such as strength or expansiveness. Because of these differences, the daily wear and tear from chewing may cause some fillings to wear down faster than others. Over time, a filling will start to break down or even shrink. This will create small gaps between the filling and tooth. Bacteria from the foods and liquids we consume daily will naturally leak its way through those gaps and begin to cause all kinds of problems. This process is described as a “leaky” filling.

Below Treetops Dentist Dr Abereoje shows us a fine example of a leaky filling, and the composite repair underneath.

Once a leaky filling condition exists, it is very important to get it properly treated. Pain or tooth sensitivity are common symptoms. If it is recognized and treated early, major tooth decay or loss of tooth could be avoided. Leaky fillings can easily be identified during routine checkups. This is another reason why it’s important to keep up with your dental checkups!

Well done Dr Abereoje and caring nurse Kira for your incredible attention to detail!.

It is always such a happy time when a patient reaches the end of their treatment journey, not just for them but for us too! We are so privileged to share the joy of seeing how our patients have transformed not only their smiles but also watching their confidence grow right before our eyes. Here are just three of our lovely patients that have finished their treatments this month.

We have two implant completions and one fixed brace orthodontics.
Well done everyone!

Keep an eye out on our social media pages over the coming weeks for the before and after photographs which will visually take you through the transformation!

A guide to starting your facial aesthetic journey in the right way.
The start of a New Year can revitalise people to embark on ‘a new you’ and for some this could begin with facial aesthetics. I have spoken with many clients over the years who had made this decision and were ready to jump into invasive treatments and my first response is to explain that this does not always provide the long term solution people are looking for. I therefore wanted to share with you how to start your aesthetics journey ‘the right way’.Where do I start?
Strong foundations are the basis of success and this is also very true when it comes to facial aesthetics.  YOUR SKIN is the  biggest organ in the body but definitely the most forgotten about!  It is the starting point to a facial aesthetic journey and investing in this first and nurturing it to it’s optimal condition, will create a more hydrated, plump, firmer and overall healthier look and feel.  Should you then wish to enhance your look even more, you will have strong foundations to allow treatments like Botox and Fillers to create a more youthful and natural look with prolonged results.
What is the first step to creating strong foundations?
I would advise an appointment with a skin specialist who has a ‘Skin Scanner’.  I have used one of these for a few years now and they allow you to see what the skin is doing at a cellular level. It will show;  inflammation, deeper pigmentation, the location of wrinkles and their depth, UV damage, sensitivity, moisture and the general condition of the skin. These results allow your specialist to prescribe a ‘bespoke home care package tailored for your skin type and to treat any skin concerns you might have. The products alone can reduce pigmentation, redness, increase skin tone and texture and reduce fine lines and wrinkles but most importantly it can repair the skin’s barrier and will allow it to function effectively which will reduce and prevent any further damage. What are the key aspects to ‘bespoke home care products’?
Key ingredients in these products such as Vitamin A and Retinol provide amazing benefits to the skin. They are involved in the production of new cells which keeps the skin functioning and looking its best.  In addition, SPF has considerable benefits for your skin, notably protecting the skin from UV rays that cause wrinkles, loss of firmness, dullness and uneven pigmentation.  SPF applied daily can help visibly reduce the signs of ageing.  Furthermore, Collagen, this is the most abundant protein in your body; it’s the main component of connective tissue. Collagen has many functions; research has shown that taking collagen orally (for example as a collagen drink) creates longer lasting effects in comparison to face cream. This is because it impacts the deeper layers of the skin, targeting the dermal layer, which is where collagen losses occur. There are many other in-clinic treatments to ensure that your ‘foundations are strong’; such as Chemical skin resurfacing treatments, Micro-needling and Collagen Induction Therapy, skin boosters such as Sunekos and Profhilo.  Your skin and facial aesthetic practitioner will recommend the one that is best suited for you.
What next?
Find an ethical practitioner who looks from ‘the foundations up’ and arrange a consultation.  If Treetops Aesthetics Clinic is your preferred choice; both myself as a Facial Aesthetic Practitioner and a Skin Care Specialist and Dr Amit Pankhania as a Facial Aesthetic Practitioner can assure you we work closely together and have a unique diagnostic approach which encompasses psychological, aesthetic and anatomical markers to find the ideal treatment for you. We are extremely ethical in our approach and our focus is to; listen to your areas of concern, share with you the possible long term solutions and equip you with as much information as possible to allow you to make an informed decision enabling you to meet that ‘new you’.I really hope you have found this article informative and for those who have thought about starting this journey, I hope it has equipped you with a bit more information to take forward with you.Kaye Higgs

January’s Team Birthdays!!!

This month we celebrated the birthdays of our super lovely Dental Hygienist; Victoria and our fantastically skilled Dentists; Dr Amit Pankhania , Dr Khalid Malik and Dr Vis Pather.

Resuscitation Training at Treetops DentalAs you can see by the looks on our faces, we were totally engrossed in our training delivered by the lovely Phil Jevron from Walsall Resuscitation Training.  As a practice, as dental professionals and as individuals it is so important for us all to keep up to date with what to do in case of a medical emergency and as part of our professional registrations and to ensure we are CQC compliant we undergo CPR training at least once a year.  We have always found it more beneficial to invest in a trainer coming to Treetops and have our own bespoke training session and we thank Phil for providing this for us. You will be pleased to know we all attained our CPR Certificates and please be assured that in the event of a medical emergency the Treetops team have been competently trained.

You may also spot that we were all treated to lunch to keep our brains working – Pizza by Dr Bhamber was the menu of the day!

Please can we give a warm welcome to one of our newest Treetops Team member, Jean Jose

Jean is joining us as an additional Hygienist.

We so look forward to working with you Jean.

We wanted to keep you updated on what to expect when visiting Treetops Dental.  As a practice we have always put the safety of our patients and team at the forefront of our decisions and now is no different. We have considered the guidance from our governing bodies, the thoughts of our team and the safety concerns of our patients and even though restrictions have been eased in certain social settings, within our health care environment we still adhere to our stringent safety measures. We kindly ask all of our patients to continue to follow our Covid Safety Patient Journey:

  • On arrival in the car park please call: 07395 916111 to check in. At this point we will also Covid assess you. (If you have been abroad in the past 10 days we will ask to see your negative Lateral Flow or PCR test)
  • We will then kindly ask you to wait in your car. (We know that this is not ideal but we hope you understand our focus is safety first)
  • We understand these wintery months are cold and wet, so please if you have walked, let our team know as we have reserved a few socially distanced seats for you inside.
  • When the Clinicians are ready, one of our lovely team members will come and find you, they will take your temperature and escort you to see your Dentist or Hygienist.
  • We lastly ask all of our patients and visitors to continue to wear their face masks.

We thank you for your continued cooperation with our safety measures, your confidence in Treetops and your caring and supporting response to all we do.
